A wedding with a soul of its own
Happening on Thursday 17 December 2026

On 17 December 2026 we are getting married, and we would love nothing more than to have you there. A winter's day woven from ritual, warmth and wonder — a cacao ceremony to connect us all, a handfasting ceremony to bind us together in forever, a greenhouse dinner, and a dancefloor that stays full until the very last song.

And yes — a Thursday. We know that means taking an afternoon off, and we don't ask that lightly. We start at 14:00 and it runs as one continuous ritual: from the moment you step through the door to the very last song, every part carries into the next. It isn't something you can join halfway, so we hope you'll keep the afternoon and evening free and be with us from the start.

You are on our list because you are part of our journey. That is the whole reason.

Schedule of the day

Every hour holds its own magic

14:00
Welcome
"The moment you step inside, let the place work its magic — and be there on time, because our arrival is not to be missed"
14:30
Cacao ceremony
"A ceremony of connection, love and deep intention — raw cacao opens the heart and sets a magical tone for our day"
15:00
Handfasting ceremony
"Our wedding ceremony: 'tying the knot' — an age-old ritual in which our hands are bound together, symbolising the deep bond between us"
15:45
Celebrating our love
"Finally bound together in forever — and that calls for a celebration. A little pre-party before the night truly begins"
17:00
Dinner in the greenhouse
"Surrounded by nature views, we drink and eat together — and have plenty of fun along the way. Save some energy for what comes next"
19:30
Party at Fort Diemerdam
"An old fort, a very good DJ and a dancefloor that stays full — this is the part we have been dreaming of"
00:00
The end
"Midnight closes the circle — one last song, one last dance, and then out into the winter night"

These times may shift slightly as the day comes together. · Paviljoen Puur, Overdiemerweg 37, 1111 PP Diemen — route

Dress code

Winter's magic, dress warm and bold, wrapped in black against the cold. Black tie or all black — the choice is yours, and the bride shall shine to light your way.

Black Tie

An evening of elegance. Tuxedos and dinner jackets, floor-length or refined cocktail dresses — dress as though the night matters, because it does.

All Black

Above all, wear what makes you feel wonderful. If you'd like to go all black, head to toe, that's more than welcome — not for mourning, but for the magic.

One thing we would ask: no white (tuxedo shirts excepted, of course), nothing that competes with the groom or bride. Mid-December in Amsterdam is cold — a beautiful coat is part of the look.

And no, you don't have to buy a tuxedo for one night. Renting one is easy and far kinder to your wallet — most suit shops offer it, shoes and bow tie included. Just book a fitting a few weeks ahead, December is a busy month.

RSVP

Will you join us?

Our circle is not complete without you.

Let us know before 1 September 2026 whether you'll be there — one reply is enough for you and your partner, if you have one. This is a day for grown souls: we've chosen to celebrate without little ones, and we hope you understand.

Getting there

Every journey to us is part of the story

Paviljoen Puur sits on the water at IJburg, on the eastern edge of Amsterdam — Overdiemerweg 37, Diemen.

By car

Take the IJburg exit from the A1 or A9 and follow the signs to Paviljoen Puur. There are 40 free parking spaces on site, with extra room along the green verges. — route

By public transport

From Amsterdam Amstel station, take bus 320 and change to bus 66 at Diemerknoop, getting off at Peter Martenstraat — about a 10–15 minute walk from there. Amsterdam's tram and bus routes around here are being reworked through 2027, so check 9292.nl or the GVB app close to the day for the latest route.

By taxi

An Uber or taxi from the centre of Amsterdam takes roughly 20 minutes. Worth arranging your ride home in advance — it's a quiet corner of the city at midnight.
